This summer, soprano Eldrid Gorset performed with Trygve Seim Trio, presenting Seim’s Rumi Songs, and with pianist Knut Erik Jensen in works by Copland, Boulanger, and Poulenc.
Norwegian soprano Eldrid Gorset was selected as a finalist in the prestigious Schymberg Awards, an international competition honoring the legacy of Hjördis Schymberg.
Eldrid Gorset has been announced as the lead in an upcoming church opera at the prestigious Retz Festival in Austria. Gorset is looking forward to dive into yet another unknown baroque piece, this time with the renowned Ensemble Continuum Wien and Luca de Marchi.
April / 24: Norwegian soprano Eldrid Gorset made a triumphant debut as soprano soloist at the iconic Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim with acclaimed Trondheim Soloists. The performance was particularly meaningful for Gorset, as she returned to her former hometown and sang just a stone’s throw from her former high school, Trondheim Katedralskole.
March / 24: Eldrid Gorset recently made her debut as soprano soloist in Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, conducted by Philip Faber with the Esbjerg Singing Academy.
Nov / 23: The versatile soprano made her debut as Eurydice in Offenbach’s Orpheo in the Underworld in Vidar Magnussen’s vibrant and playful staging. The opera is sung and spoken in Norwegian, and contains ‘Can Can- dancing’, spicy costumes and the outstanding Kristoffer Olsen as ‘The Public Opinion’.
Oct / 23: In Vaasa awaits the anticipated Finland debut, singing the title role in Proserpin by J.M. Kraus.
July / 23Together with Queer Voices Opera Company, Eldrid is the first Norwegian Singer to be singing at the famous opera festival at Arcola Theatre, London.
