Norwegian soprano Eldrid Gorset made a triumphant debut as soprano soloist in Handel’s Messiah at the iconic Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim. The performance was particularly meaningful for Gorset, as she returned to her hometown and sang just a stone’s throw from her former high school, Trondheim Katedralskole.
Gorset’s radiant voice and emotional depth filled the historic cathedral, earning praise from the audience.. Accompanied by the celebrated Trondheim Soloists and under the baton of conductor Karen Haugom Olsen, the performance also featured the Nidaros Oratorio Choir in a stirring interpretation of Handel’s masterpiece.
This homecoming debut marked a special milestone in Gorset’s career.
